Blog Post: Christopher Columbus/Leif Erickson did/did not discover America (yadayadayada)

 So there is Leif Erickson who may have landed on Newfoundland in 990 (something) off the coast of Maine 'Closer' to Canada!.. (and by accident I might add) Roughly 500 years later Christopher Columbus is looking for a western route to Asia, lands on an island in the Bahamas (Again by accident) 'Also' believed to have discovered America!.. Then in 1496 I believe, 'John Cabot' from orders of his King 'Was' ordered to voyage west, and he 'Also' Discovered, America!.. However John Cabot sailed roughly the same route I guess as Erickson, he landed on the same, 'Newfoundland' !.. 'However'!... In 1546 (I believe) Hernando De Soto 'Was' the 1rst European to actually land and come aboard on a beach somewhere in Florida, and prolly continue up through, Georgia/Tennessee and maybe up the Mississippi to !..

Blog Post: Did you get that crap of your shoes ok that you stepped in

 First Stephen Colbert says something that kinda got under your skin, so you tell 'Paramount' to give him atleast another season... Then Jimmy Kimmel does something that 'Also' gets under your skin, but this time (probably) without thinking, you have people at ABC go ahead and yank him off the air and then not long afterwards people are discontinuing their 'Hulu' and 'Disney+'!. So after you had your chance to see how much this was costing all the companies, networks (even CBS for canceling Colbert) you put Jimmy back on, and Jimmey Kimmel gets the biggest talk/comedy show he's ever had !.So now ole 'Dumbledore' is whining and crying because, every time he turns on the tv, reads a newspaper he gets a bad review, or he sees something bad or reads something not to good about him.. Well if you are reading this (which I doubt) but if you are then try not to do so many bad stuff, like having a concentration camp on Native American sacred land and National Wildlife Refuge, canceling tv shows, having people make war on the steps of the U.S. Capital....

                                                    You know, be alittle more.... 'Potus-ish'!.

Blog Post: What the hell have done, who the hell did we elect?!

 You can't really live by yourself nowadays and not pick-up some kind of news about the outside world !.  I mean you could live in a cabin in the woods, off grid no elec. no running water (unless you have a stream) like 'Little House on the Prairie' or ' Grizzly Adams' and still get some bit of news!. I live by myself however I do have a computer with internet and I also have a tv and I also walk alot but no matter how hard I try, I still get some sorta news.. First I read on the computer of Stephen Colbert's Late night comedy/talk show getting canceled then (They) announced that Jimmy Kimmel was next but nobody figured, and then 'BLAM' no more Jimmy Kimmel !. I forgot  to mention that Mr. Orange face (trying no to name names here) basically he told Paramount to pull Colbert but atleast he gave him afew more months, Kimmel however said something about a guy who was shot just recently and showed a short video of what 'Mr. Dump' had to say, apparently he didn't like it and 'BLAMMO' no more Jimmy Kimmel !! So now everybody is all, 'Up In Arms' over this 'Freedom of Speech'!. All this because of 1 person!!. (I'll give you 1 guess) Now they're boycotting at 1 or both Disney theme parks, people are canceling their Disney+ and Hulu subscription, I'm sure some even canceled Paramount+

Blog Post: believe it, don't believe it... it's all irrelevant

 Why do you have to say, "I don't/do believe in ghosts" or "I don't/do believe in God, or the Devil"?.. It's like you have to (Have To) believe in order for these thing to exist!.. I can go both ways on the subject.. I think it's all irrelevant, I don't think it's the believing but the fact you acknowledge the existence.. If you wanna believe in something, that's all fine and good... However I think it's the, 'Acknowledging their existence'!.

I Love Dogs

 Just like the title says, 'I Love Dogs'!. Now keep in mind, there are 'good dogs' and 'bad dogs'!. The 'good dogs' are nice dogs, don't fly off the handle and bark at every little thing they see, from little stray cats to.... idk.... a leaf falling from a branch!. My neighbors on both sides of me have dogs, 1 neighbor has, 'good dogs' and the other neighbor has, 'bad dogs'.. These bad dogs bark at everything (EveRYtHing) but they've gotten used to me, they'll let me pett'm, my other neighbor, more behind me, has a rottweiler, which is a 'very good dog' as far as I'm concerned !. You may hear the occasional barking from it, but once he's told to be quiet, he'll be quiet!.  Then I have 1 more neighbor, and he has a puppy, he kind of keeps to himself doesn't say much.. (the dog I'm talking about) I LiVe in the BArKzOne!!... Everybody here has a dog though, and when one starts barking they 'ALL' start barking!.. My theory is, when a guy buys a dog, he's not getting it for himself, well some do I suppose, but they mostly get it for their girlfriend's kids!. A woman on the other hand may be alittle different, there's a better chance of them taking better care of a pooch than a guy, but don't get me wrong, there are guy's who love dogs!... (like yours truly)

Blog post: Football and Baseball Greats

 Just recently I was scrolling on Facebook, and I seen this post on 'Pete Rose', which made me want to 'google' and download a picture of O.J. Simpson.. As soon as I 'googled' O.J. Simpson, I seen alot of pictures of him: in court/in his jumpsuit/on trial, just afew of him in his football uniform.. I also seen posts about his passing, and alot of the comments people were making weren't very nice, I don't know if it was a racial thing (prejudice) or a black'n'white (again... prejudice) I don't know, but I'll tell you what I do know, these two are just as guilty as the other, they're also, two great athletes!..

Blog post: Begginers luck

 There are some things out there considered 'good luck' and 'bad luck' bringers of 'massages' and 'omens'.. I personally see owls as a sign of 'bad luck'.. I can't help it, whenever I see an owl, it's just a matter of time before something bad is gonna happen.. However, I heard/read somewhere that if you take a pinch of salt, and throw it over your shoulder, that's supposed to 'Cancel' out the bad luck!. (unless you're the person standing behind the person throwing the salt, and they get it in the eye, then it's not good luck for them, is it?.) I just 'googled' whether or not it's good luck to carry an 'Alligator's foot' and a 'Wolf's tooth' , it is, but definitely not for the person trying to get the foot in the first place!. I also 'googled' if it was a sign of good luck if a bird 'craps' on you, it is!... (Hey!... Just imagine what the poor rabbit is going through!. He has to hop around on three feet!.)

Blog post: Football and Police Officer... (are they the same)

 Let's take a look at this, shall we!. You're kind of putting your life on the line in both, one you get paid to entertain people once a week (either Mon. Thurs. Sat. or Sun.) and the other you do every day.. In one you are running with a ball in one direction, 3...4 maybe 5 mph even faster, but at the same time people are running 'At' you, trying to take the ball away, trying to tackle you as well, but a bad tackle could result in either hospital or even carrier ending stuff!.. (ala 'game over) However that's a game made to entertain people!. The other is just as bad it involves guns and bullets, the guns aren't so bad, however though if you get hit with a bullet fired from a gun it could be either carrier ending stuff or fatal, but in both you can also come away with cuts 'n' scraps!... (so what's worse Football or being a Police Man)

Blog Post: Jan. 1, (when things do not necessarily go how we would like them to)

 Happy New Year, everyone!. January 1, 2024, a time to make resolutions, or promises, when we say, "This yr. I'm gonna start that diet" or "I'm gonna be the BEST me I can be" and my favorite, "No more negativity"!.😆😆 What happens though when that ole wrench gets thrown into the plan?! I've come to realize that eventually our resolutions and promises don't workout!. Use the word, 'try' more, "I'm gonna 'TRY' to diet this yr" "I'm gonna 'TRY' to be the best I can be" that way when our resolutions don't work out, we won't be so hard on ourselves.. For instance, mine was a really easy one I knew I could do, "I'm not gonna murder anyone for a whole yr"!...Ehhh... Now that I think about it maybe I should've said, "I'm gonna 'TRY' not to murder anyone for a whole yr"! (I still got time to change it, right!?!...It's still New Yrs. Day)

Blog post: Christmas

 Let's look at Christmas, shall we?. Do we know for sure where it came from?. Over the yrs. I've heard and read, these so called facts, how Jesus Christ is the 'Reason for the 'Season', I've read he died on the 25th of Dec. or came back to life.. I even read where he died on 'Easter'.. Christmas originated with the 'Pagans', the Roman Pagan Festival 'Saturnalia' celebrated in mid. Dec... St. Nicholas, of 'Bari' who was an early Christian Bishop of the Greek City of 'Myra' modern day 'Turkey' gave gifts secretly, which is also where Santa Claus (Sinterklaas) originated.. He performed many miracles, one of which includes, 'resurrection'.. So we'll probably never know the, 'Actual' history of Christmas, but one thing is for sure, children from all over seem to 'Really' really like it!.

Blog post: Maybe

 I can't remember much, earlier than 11 yrs. of age, but after 10 I start to remember, and then I remember more 'n' more the older I get.. One thing I do know though, I was never really able to say, 'yes' or 'no' on something, unless I knew for sure!. I'd always say, maybe/I don't know/we'll see/possibly.. I know with alot of people out there it's, "No 'Maybe', Only 'Yes' or 'No' "!. However with me, it's 'Maybe' it's always been 'Maybe' and it's always going to be 'Maybe'!. (I don't know maybe, we'll see) I believe it was 'Bret Micheals' who said, "Give me somth'n to believe in".. Will I ever meet 'Poison'?. (maybe) 'Yes' I did see the tour bus down in my home town of Floridana Beach once!. Will I ever see my parents again?. (that's not in a dream) Idk maybe.. Will I ever see Rob again?. Only time will tell.. (ok maybe bad choice of words 😁) I'm sure though you get the idea!. 'Yes' I did live in Florida and Oklahoma and Missouri and Kansas.. 

Blog Post: Finding things out

 I'm sure many of our parents say, "I didn't say anything dear cause I was trying to protect you".. Just what are they protecting us from, now that is if we're 5 or 10 or 13, even 20 or early 20's.. Now things may start to get alittle harder in our 30's, much less 40's!.. I didn't find out I had a biological Sister till 48.. I thought she was my Cousin, and the worst part about finding out was, I had called up my other Cousin to pay my respects on hearing (of her Sisters) passing, next thing I get is, "She's your Sister not mine" I just went with it, she had just had a 2nd stroke, so I figured it was the stroke talking.. So, yep, I had a Sister for 48 yrs. and didn't even know!. Ohhhh let' see what else what else, oh yeah, my Bro. was in jail more times than I thought.. Then there was this little thing (it was more of a joke really) How I thought for so long that 'Robert Plant' and 'Led Zeppelin' were 2 people, then after 46/47 yrs. my Bro. set me straight, "Robert Plant is the lead singer in the 'band' 'Led Zeppelin'!. But see what I'm saying, you're told one thing your whole life, then all of a sudden, in the blink of an eye, your whole world kinda comes, 'falling apart'!.

Blog post: country livin vs city livin

 I lived in the country and visited people who lived in the city, and vise versa.. When you live somewhere, you kind of know what the surroundings are.. Just afew years ago, I lived in a big city, but I knew all the back (city) roads, and I could easily walk to, McDonalds... the mall... movie/theater... Sometimes I had to use the crosswalk to cross the big road, but it was ok, I knew all the quiet neighborhoods!. My Bro. Used to live in a little cozy 1 br. out in the country about 2 mi. out of the city limits.. He lived on about 1 maybe 2 acres but had permission to walk on the 80 acres connected to the property!. It had plenty of garden room, rolling hills, a creek!. I used to go there and visit, for the day (I lived in the city) and just stay out side, while they were at work!. I used to live in a city that was really light on the traffic, but still went to visit some people that built a log cabin, matter 'o' fact, they were neighbors of my Bro. So I'd go and visit them, but I'd stay like 5 days with them, they lived in the next state.. Once I stayed with them for about a month!. I live in a city now, every week I go to Walmart/Wendy's, basically just a long stretch of restaurants/stores/etc... motels.... (as long as you got money though) I live in a cozy little apt. now, pay my own bills, miserable as hell... but Hey, the rent is great!.

Blog Post: Time change

 So last night we had the time change, where we put the clocks forward 1 hr. (I forgot all about it) All my clocks are electric anyways, so it doesn't matter if I forget to change them, they do it themselves!. I do not like the time change.. For starters, it wouldn't matter what time of yr. you stop changing the clocks because atleast twice a yr. it's either gonna be, dark in the morn. and stay lighter longer or vice versa!. Let the schools and work places account for people walking to work or school in the dark, but do not make everybody else rearrange their lives by setting the clocks every 6 months either forward or backward !. We have everything 'Set' the way we want it, we get good nights sleep, we have our programs to watch at a certain time, we might like to walk at a certain time every day, but if the time changes, then that 'forks up' our whole schedule....

Blog post: Checkouts

 I was reading alittle bit ago about, 'checkouts'.. How this person doesn't like them, they think they're putting alot of people out of work, (which they are).. Complaining about showing their receipt to the lady or guy standing at the door.. Now a few days ago, I was reading how these store managers put plexiglass up between the 'Cashier' and the 'Customer', obviously for the 'covid' but people are still complaining that 'Cashiers are putting their hands on stuff'.. Saying stuff like, "Thank-you for putting a piece of plexiglass up between the customer and the cashier, the lady scanning everything is putting her germs all over my food"!. Maybe (just maybe) 'THEY' knew about this 'covid' or something similar way back when Walmart first put in these 'self checkouts'!. I do not believe they were in very long, I don't know for sure, but I don't think it was long..

Blog Post: Having your best friend waiting for you when you get back

 I took a walk earlier up to the store, had to get more juice.. Then, on the way back, I stopped at the local market (Casey's) to get a Pepsi and a candy bar, then walked another quarter mile-ish to the 'Square' then sat on a bench and ate and drank my little snack!. I was only there maybe half hr. 45 mins., then I got up, and walked the final 2 blocks back to the apt. As I was turning in the drive-way (walking in the drive-way) the neighbor's (the guy who lives alongside of my apt.) little white Pomeranian dog was sitting on my top step!. It 'Made my day', a few days before the neighbor's cat, was sitting on the hood of my neighbor's car (the guy who lives in the front half of the apt.) I like to take afew dog treats with me, just incase!. The dog and cat both like the same treats!. There's this one lady that works up on the 'Square' but she has her own office.. Every once in a while she brings her own little Idk Poodle, or any one of the other 1000's of little dog breeds out there!. But seeing the neighbor's dog, up on my step just absolutely made my day!!..

Blog Post: Religion

 So today I walked down to my local 7-11 market I needed some bread and soda for the apt. After I checked out, I went out like I normally do and put everything in my backpack, there was this woman there (employee) she was on a break.. We started talking slowly, then she asks me (about 5 mins. in) if I go to church!. Now she seemed like a nice person, even after I answered her, "No" I said, she says, "Don't you believe in the lord Jesus"? I paused afew secs. and said, "I know he's around"!... I don't really post my religious views, but hey, If someone 'pokes me' or 'pushes my buttons'....... like...... like, the other day, I was sitting on a bench, just outside of the, 'Bible Publications' These 2 older ladies came up to me and said, "Do you know the way to the lord"? After a few secs. I said," Yeah... but I'm not exactly ready to go just yet"!. Now these answers are probably better than the ones I gave a few yrs. ago.. My Mom and I went to this 'Flea Market' upon entering, there were these 2 guys, black suits white shirt black tie, (could've been Jehovah Idk it was so long ago) they asked me "where I wanted to go when I die" I believe I said, "Wherever it is I hope there's a McDonald's" or maybe, "I hope they have cable" ..... There was 1 yr. could've been back in 2008/09, there were 2 Jehovah's that came up to our door, everybody else must've seen them except me, (lucky me) but I started talking to them, but what surprised me was I actually liked talking to these people, they didn't have any (crazy) questions, actually, there were alot of topics covered, not just religion!.

Blog post: A few days before Christmas

 Well, we're only a few days away from Christmas!. Some houses around here are all decorated, the 'Square' is all decorated, all though, it could be done alittle better.. We have a statue with a deer on it, and a wreath with lights on it on the deer I think they had it plugged in for only a few nights.. the next town over.... Pittsburg... has garland hanging across the road, we just have wreaths on the poles.. I've been here 4 Xmases now, and for the last 3, they've had lights up on, every single building going around the 'Square'.. However this yr. there are lights out on a few, and some buildings just don't have them on.. There is however a WWII helicopter on the 'yard' by the 'Square' with nice garland with lights, on fence post going all around the helicopter, that looks nice!.. Right now, as I'm doing this 'blog' it's -2, and it snowed alittle lastnight, but they call for near 60's by the end of next week!. (kind of wild'n'wacky weather)

Blog Post: Almost Halloween

 Well, in a few more days it'll be Halloween!. People buying Halloween decorations, making up there front yards!. I went out and bought some candy, it's almost gone, no worries though, for the last 3 Halloweens I've been turning off the light anyway.. I just never really was one to participate in any kind of event, maybe the occasional Birthday party for my Nephew, or little Halloween/Xmas/New yrs. Eve./Anniversary or just some get together.. I did get some masks that I got hanging up on my wall, then after Halloween is over, I might get alittle 10" Xmas tree.. Last yr. for Halloween, I had a room in my apartment called, 'The Dungeon' it was nice, got all kinds of Medieval swords, axes, stuff from that time!. I may have it this yr. So far we've been pretty lucky with the weather here!. Upper 60's during the day and 40's at night!. There's been this major drought going on here since late March, everything has a nice shade of brown, the grass/ the trees, there's this nice evergreen, Xmas Tree on the 'Courthouse Lawn' that they hung lights and ornaments on for the last 3 Xmases, but this yr. it's a nice brown evergreen 'Stump'!..

Blog Post: July 18, 2022

 A little more than 3 years ago, my Nephew and I had to get out of the house we were in.. So we went to the 'Days Inn' stayed a few nights, a friend of ours took us out for a nice supper, then the next day, a friend of mine gave me a ride to Orlando Airport where my bro. invited me to stay with him in North Caroline for a while, while my Nephew stayed another night in the hotel then stayed with a friend of ours.. I had a nice stay in N.C. My friend took me around to see the sights/attractions, I stayed there for about a month (maybe not quite) then my bro. took me to Ashville where I flew to Joplin and got a place in Kansas.. I always said that I really like it out west, and I wanted to be out west.. The earliest that I can remember going out to Kansas to visit my Aunt and Uncle my Mom and Dad took me, I think I was like 11, I said that I could live out here, that I loved it out here.. I lived in Oklahoma for a while, Missouri.. When I hopped on that plane in Ashville, North Carolina, I was so happy, I was the only one jumping up 'n' down on the plane!. Then after about 6 months living in my apt. things stated to change for me, I really got to 'See' the 'Lay of the Land'.. I noticed how 'Dirty' certain things are here, some people are friendly others just don't give you the 'Time of day'.. I guess when you say things while in teens and even early 20's they take on a whole new meaning later on in life, when you're actually livin that life, then you realize it's not exactly what you wanted
