Blog Post: Almost Halloween

 Well, in a few more days it'll be Halloween!. People buying Halloween decorations, making up there front yards!. I went out and bought some candy, it's almost gone, no worries though, for the last 3 Halloweens I've been turning off the light anyway.. I just never really was one to participate in any kind of event, maybe the occasional Birthday party for my Nephew, or little Halloween/Xmas/New yrs. Eve./Anniversary or just some get together.. I did get some masks that I got hanging up on my wall, then after Halloween is over, I might get alittle 10" Xmas tree.. Last yr. for Halloween, I had a room in my apartment called, 'The Dungeon' it was nice, got all kinds of Medieval swords, axes, stuff from that time!. I may have it this yr. So far we've been pretty lucky with the weather here!. Upper 60's during the day and 40's at night!. There's been this major drought going on here since late March, everything has a nice shade of brown, the grass/ the trees, there's this nice evergreen, Xmas Tree on the 'Courthouse Lawn' that they hung lights and ornaments on for the last 3 Xmases, but this yr. it's a nice brown evergreen 'Stump'!..

Blog Post: July 18, 2022

 A little more than 3 years ago, my Nephew and I had to get out of the house we were in.. So we went to the 'Days Inn' stayed a few nights, a friend of ours took us out for a nice supper, then the next day, a friend of mine gave me a ride to Orlando Airport where my bro. invited me to stay with him in North Caroline for a while, while my Nephew stayed another night in the hotel then stayed with a friend of ours.. I had a nice stay in N.C. My friend took me around to see the sights/attractions, I stayed there for about a month (maybe not quite) then my bro. took me to Ashville where I flew to Joplin and got a place in Kansas.. I always said that I really like it out west, and I wanted to be out west.. The earliest that I can remember going out to Kansas to visit my Aunt and Uncle my Mom and Dad took me, I think I was like 11, I said that I could live out here, that I loved it out here.. I lived in Oklahoma for a while, Missouri.. When I hopped on that plane in Ashville, North Carolina, I was so happy, I was the only one jumping up 'n' down on the plane!. Then after about 6 months living in my apt. things stated to change for me, I really got to 'See' the 'Lay of the Land'.. I noticed how 'Dirty' certain things are here, some people are friendly others just don't give you the 'Time of day'.. I guess when you say things while in teens and even early 20's they take on a whole new meaning later on in life, when you're actually livin that life, then you realize it's not exactly what you wanted

Blog Post: 2022

 Well another year down (the crapper) it kinda was a crappy yr..... come to think of it most of the following yr. was too !. As Dr. Fauci was in the news alot, telling everyone to get vaccinated.. There are 4 (that's 4) shots out now, with one being a booster shot (prolly come out with a 5th one soon) now on top of all that, there is a pill.. At the beginning of 2021, I never seen 'Time Square' look so empty, like a ghost town!. 

I'll tell you what, I'd hate to be in Brandon's shoes right now!. I mean how would you feel if a group of people started doing a cheer for you, then you find out that the cheer really isn't for you?. It's like 30 of your best friends singing 'Happy Birthday' to you then hearing, "We're not really singing to you but it's really a code for another person"!.

Ever since late 2016 (yeah 2016) it seems like the world has been slowly changing, then late 2019 it really started changing, then started changing in my neck of the woods!. Sure I try to just keep doin what I'm doin, but I might have to wear a mask for this or for that.. From late 2019-the Summer of 2020 I'd have to, walk through the drive-thru..

Blog post: Thanksgiving, come 'n' gone!.

 Last Sunday, I took my Neighbor to the local Cafe, about a block up the road.. We had a Thanksgiving lunch (they closed at 2), had some slabs of turkey/mashed taters 'n' gravy/stuffing and roll and a few other stuff, then we sat there awhile, then I had to walk up to the store, which was a good walk to walk off some of that meal while my Neighbor went back home and prolly took a nap!. Tuesday, I went to Walmart, wasn't able to stay quit as long as I wanted but I still got everything done.. Went to Wendy's then walked over to Wallyworld, got some decorations, lights for the house, which I may put up today (hopefully I don't fall off the  ladder)... My Neighbors (not the one I took to the Cafe but other Neighbors) brought me over a turkey dinner, turkey/ham stuffing/rolls, a whole bunch of good stuff, so much better than  the turkey sandwich I was making!. (see I know how to spell, 'samitch'') This week when I go to Wallyworl again, I'm gonna try to find a short strand of 'colored lights' maybe 30" or 24" or 16"..Maybe 1 or 2 more strands for the house..

Blog Post: I miss my hunting

I sure do miss my hunting, it never really was about me harvesting a deer or turkey, but I did kill 1 deer back in '93 maybe '94!.. For me it was mostly just the feel of getting up early, getting all camoed up and heading in the woods with a quiver full of arrows!.. Walking down the field at 4am with just a flashlight to guide the way!.. When I did finely reach my tree I was to sit next to or got up in my stand, I'd just sit there as it slowly started becoming dawn then daybreak then I'd be watching the sunrise!.. Every once 'n' a while, I would see a turkey or a deer.. My favorite time would be early in the morning, but I did go out in the afternoon sometimes, saw a lot of sunsets!.I miss my hunting!.

Blog post: The Holidays are coming

 Well, there's only a few more days till Halloween, then Thanksgiving then Xmas!. Most of the houses around here are getting all dressed-up for the big day!. Some are alittle on the scary side while others are just simple, some hay and pumpkins.. I'm not doing anything big, I did however get a few things for my, 'Dungeon', might get some little decorations for outside, don't plan on handing candy out to the kids.. (it all wouldn't even make it till then anyhow) A lot of people coming outta Walmart with pumpkins.. This guy had 2 baskets as he was walking out, and each basket must've had about 10 maybe 15 in each!. A few minutes later, this woman came out with a basket full, I was counting them as she loaded up her mini van, she had 11, yeah people do take in the spirit around here!. (doesn't matter what time of yr. it is, or the holiday)

Blog post: June 24

 Monday I went camping.. They predicted a couple of cool-ish days so I decided I should 'jump' through the window and take opportunity of the nice weather and the cool-ish air and 20% chance of rain plus I wanted to try out my new tent!. It was really nice, had a nice spot, took along walk, saw like 6 or 7 rabbits, talked to some nice people, very interesting, talked for like 45 min. to an hr. Both the guys I talked with had dogs, they were awesome!. Running around playing, very friendly!. (the dogs) Although what surprised me was the 1rst guy had 3 dogs and they were all males, but they all got along fine!. Then the other guy that came down just had 1 dog and it was very friendly/energetic!.  (heck they were all friendly and energetic even the guys.......well...... maybe not energetic) Now I've been camping a few times now, up here in Kansas down in Florida, and I get people will stay up till 11, 12 but 20 till 3 !!.. (REALLY) He came down in the lot, parked across the way, so he (or she) was not near me, but whoever it was had this...... high beam....... halogen.....looked like a car with its high beams on, but it was a flashlight.....Idk, maybe they were fishing/looking for frogs/ditching a body idk.....So the next morning I got up, took alittle walk (that's when I seen the rabbits) came back, did my usual camping stuff, wait till about 12 then take taxi to McDonalds for lunch, only I ate at Wendy's then walked around Wallyworld then taxied back then sat and thought for a while, "I don't need this 3am wake up shit" so I packed everything up and went and got a room for 2 nights!. Ok....so, my back didn't like that, but hey,  give 'n' take....... give 'n' take!.
