Blog Post: I miss my hunting

I sure do miss my hunting, it never really was about me harvesting a deer or turkey, but I did kill 1 deer back in '93 maybe '94!.. For me it was mostly just the feel of getting up early, getting all camoed up and heading in the woods with a quiver full of arrows!.. Walking down the field at 4am with just a flashlight to guide the way!.. When I did finely reach my tree I was to sit next to or got up in my stand, I'd just sit there as it slowly started becoming dawn then daybreak then I'd be watching the sunrise!.. Every once 'n' a while, I would see a turkey or a deer.. My favorite time would be early in the morning, but I did go out in the afternoon sometimes, saw a lot of sunsets!.I miss my hunting!.

Blog post: The Holidays are coming

 Well, there's only a few more days till Halloween, then Thanksgiving then Xmas!. Most of the houses around here are getting all dressed-up for the big day!. Some are alittle on the scary side while others are just simple, some hay and pumpkins.. I'm not doing anything big, I did however get a few things for my, 'Dungeon', might get some little decorations for outside, don't plan on handing candy out to the kids.. (it all wouldn't even make it till then anyhow) A lot of people coming outta Walmart with pumpkins.. This guy had 2 baskets as he was walking out, and each basket must've had about 10 maybe 15 in each!. A few minutes later, this woman came out with a basket full, I was counting them as she loaded up her mini van, she had 11, yeah people do take in the spirit around here!. (doesn't matter what time of yr. it is, or the holiday)

 Monday I went camping.. They predicted a couple of cool-ish days so I decided I should 'jump' through the window and take opportunity of the nice weather and the cool-ish air and 20% chance of rain plus I wanted to try out my new tent!. It was really nice, had a nice spot, took along walk, saw like 6 or 7 rabbits, talked to some nice people, very interesting, talked for like 45 min. to an hr. Both the guys I talked with had dogs, they were awesome!. Running around playing, very friendly!. (the dogs) Although what surprised me was the 1rst guy had 3 dogs and they were all males, but they all got along fine!. Then the other guy that came down just had 1 dog and it was very friendly/energetic!.  (heck they were all friendly and energetic even the guys.......well...... maybe not energetic) Now I've been camping a few times now, up here in Kansas down in Florida, and I get people will stay up till 11, 12 but 20 till 3 !!.. (REALLY) He came down in the lot, parked across the way, so he (or she) was not near me, but whoever it was had this...... high beam....... halogen.....looked like a car with its high beams on, but it was a flashlight.....Idk, maybe they were fishing/looking for frogs/ditching a body idk.....So the next morning I got up, took alittle walk (that's when I seen the rabbits) came back, did my usual camping stuff, wait till about 12 then take taxi to McDonalds for lunch, only I ate at Wendy's then walked around Wallyworld then taxied back then sat and thought for a while, "I don't need this 3am wake up shit" so I packed everything up and went and got a room for 2 nights!. Ok....so, my back didn't like that, but hey,  give 'n' take....... give 'n' take!.  

Blog post: May 1 (May Day, May Day)

 It's been quite awhile since my last post.... 3 months!. (I'll try not to make it so long) Yesterday, I just got back from a little 2 night vacation I gave myself from the local motel !. It was a nice stay, went to Wallyworld and Wendy's and a few others.. I was gonna go camping for a few nights but decided to just go get a room.. I've been having some problems with my knee so I thought it'd be better to  get a hotel room.. I still got a few weeks of cool nights I believe maybe I'll still go camping if I'm still here!. It was nice being able to watch tv, or walking over to Arby's or BK.I gotta be honest with you though, it was kinda nice to get back to my recliner, I do not sleep well on a bed so I sleep in a recliner, (since 2011) very rarely can I sleep as long as 5 days without waking up at..... like.....an hr. or hr. and a half, after going to sleep at night, then I have to wait about that long before I can fall asleep again.. With a recliner however, I get a solid 6 or 7 hrs.

 Well here we are, new yr. (hope it's better than the last) new Pres. (again, hope he's better than the last one) I got a brand new 4 person tent, kinda looking forward to try'n it out!. Last time I went camping,had a pretty good time got to see some deer afew raccoons, had some neighbors.. It was last June or July, there were 3 days were the temps were gonna be in the low50's to 40's and the highs were in the 70's, with clear to mostly clear skys and 20% or lower rain, so I hopped on that wagon!. Since  the campground is a mile or so from McDonalds, I'll just call a cab and make a quick run through the drive thru and take it back and eat it at the campsite, and maybe afew cookies as a late night snack!. I don't really bother with any food when I go, other than maybe some cookies/candy bars and maybe some sodas.. Lived here for about a yr. and a half and only been camping 3 times, I've been once back in '09 and.....I think.....before that was......the mid. 80's (idk) but I'm starting to get back in the camping game, I like the outdoors, I like camping!..

 This here is an ode to my beautiful town (yeah right) Girard Kansas;

 I just love to look at all the beautiful homes that are in Girard, (not really)... All the lawns are kept so neat and tidy (right)... Except for the 'Courthouse' the 'Courthouse' and the yard around it, is always kept either mowed every week, or mowed to keep the leaves off the yard... (now getting back to my, 'Ode To Girard Ks.') All the people here are just so nice and warm and friendly (🤔🤔🤔)... The neighbors on my right side (or left depending on how you're standing) have a nice big, round, abuve ground pool, which I think from May to Aug. they only used twice,  and....... well......... it's just one big round ice cube now, yes it's still standing with water!. Last yr. they took it down, but they basically just left the pool laying laying on the side from  Oct. io May (imitating a big blue pancake).... I'm sorry, I keep getting of track... Were was I...Oh yeah!...Nice, 'n' warm 'n' friendly (yada yada) I really like how people here ask you, "Hey, were ya off too"?. or, "When you gonna be back"?. err someth'n like that, I get more acnoloment, from all the dog's in the area!. They see me leave, "Ruff Ruff"!. They see me come back, "Ruff Ruff", for all I know,they could be, welcoming me back, or maybe, "Hey, how long you gonna be"?. It could be anything, but whatever it is it's directed at me, I see them and they see me!..... (oh maybe, "Hey we missed you while you were away") You think what you want and I'll think what I want!.. Well, like Ozzy said, "I think I'm going off the rails" and I think I went off  the rails here a few times!. I started a poem and finished with.............something else!.

Blog post: Nov. 14th

 Well, Halloween came and went and just yesterday was, 'Friday the 13th,' which is kind of like a holiday in it's own right, I guess maybe it could  be a, 'Day' like we have, National Doughnut Day' and 'National Hotdog Day' there's even a, 'National Happiness Day' so why couldn't we have a, 'National Friday the 13th Day' it could even be a ratings booster for that movie....uhh....you know, that movie!?. Well, just a few more days and it'll be, 'Turkey Day'!......... (There's another, 'Day') 

I may be moving back east,northeast this time, New York!. I like Fla. know people there, just that it's not exactly my thing!. I like 4 seasons (where Fla. just has 2 summers and a fall) in the fall, I'd rather jump into a pile of leaves (not a pile of palm fronds) I don't exactly like to wear shorts all yr. round!. When I moved out here in Kansas a little over a yr. ago I liked it, being on my own, my own independence........ehh....A little over a yr. later though, not so much... Just not my area anymore, so I guess now I'm looking forward to living in N.Y. !.... 

I went to Wallyworld last Wed. got a little 24" tree!. It has those little bendy branches on it and I got 1 big Christmas ball, and I never did  bend the branches to make it look like an actual Xmas tree, so now I just call it my Charlie Brown Tree!.
