Franklin Ks.

A nice small unincorporated town,est.1907.Most of the town was leveled by an f5 tornado...(in 2004)....Quit afew of the homes got destoied.Some people rebuilt in the same spot as there other house,others didn't.Nearby towns are,Girard/Pittsburg/Arma and Mullberry,Arma is the neighboring town,it's incorporated,it's got a grocery store/resturant/library.

Well,last night April 21,we had another exciting night with about 7 or 8 police cars!They didn't stop in my area of the complex,they went all the way down to the other end.The first car came in at about 11:00pm with the lights on but no sirens,then some more and more,stayed about 40-45 min. then left.Today is the 5th of May,and not counting yesterday we had about 3 or 4 days of fire trucks/police cars/fire rescue trucks/fire engines!

Camp Holly

Went to Camp Holly yesterday,just west of 95 on route 192.Nice restourant and souvineir store with shirts/little ice box magnets/etc.They have your bassic fishing needs/Airboat rides and ofcourse aligators!The last time I was in there,it was the 80's,I can't remember exactly how long ago the floor was layed...(wood slats)...but it reminded me of that 'Thunder Mountain Railroad' at Disney world!!

Alot has been happening in my apt.complex the last month!About 4 weeks ago I geuss it started with a fire rescue  truck,taking someone to the hosp.Then about a week ago,about 3 police cars came in at 10:30 or so at night,they only stayed for about an hour and a half.Then last night,4 police cars and a van showed,pics.were being taken,they all stayed for afew hours,going from one end of the apts.to the other,I ended up going to bed at 1 so I couldn't say for sure if they left or not.Afew hours after I woke up this morning though however,5 police cars came in,guns were drawn,even one guy had an ar 15 or somtin like it but luckily no bullits flew!One guy got led away in handcuffs!

Floridana Beach

Floridana Beach,it has deffinately changed,since I was born and grew-up there in the 70's to the early 80's.I can remember it being a nice small community of afew hundred people,now it's blown well up to afew thousand and if you count the ouskirts,then you got a pop.of well over 50,000.Sebastian Inlet State Park,just south of Floridana Beach,used to be campgrounds/fishing/picnicing/etc.(free!)Now it's $2 an accel,according to how many accels you have!Long Point State Park which is north of Sebastian Inlet and just south of Floridana Beach...(kinda the half way point between the two)...Used to be a nice spot to goto.It's probably the only place that didn't make too many changes,it had two big swimming holes,which are now marshes with cat tails and over growing grass.They made more room for rv's/room for tents/put more picnic space/bbq,etc.You just have to becarful not to get run over by a raccoon!

March 2nd

Over the years I've found good useable stuff in the trash,not really in the trash but next to it,like afew good working tools like a spade/hedge clippers(or loppers)a good hand saw(wood saw).One time I found a good pair of those metal chairs(those kind with curved legs that kinda look like a 'c').Tonight in my apartment complex after supper,I went for a walk and by our dumpster somebody threw out a couch(one of those curved couches)it was like brand new so I walked back to my apt.ask my Nephew to give me a hand bringing a chair back,thinking that I was just gonna have 1 chair,we ended up haveing a chair in each room!!

Not my kind of town!People really don't say hi to you as you walk by,there's too much traffic.We live in an apt.complex so kids just play anywhere they want.A good note I suppose,there's a Wal -Mart close by,chicken resturant within walking distance.
