staying put!

Well,we went over to see the office manager,to tell her that we're  gonna stay for another lease this way we'll beable to save up alittle more 'denares'and find a good place,someplace else...(maybe here maybe kansas)...

haircut day

Well,yesterday I went for a 'haircut'.First let me just say,it was close so I just walked there,not far maybe just a quarter mile or half that!The first time I ever been in one of those 'barber shops' there was about 6 or 7 chairs and guys including the Teacher.One guy started cutting my hair,and every so often there would be 2 or 3 other people standing around saying what to do/cut this,cut that.However I was pleased when he was all done.

exciting week

The last 4 or 5 days have been pretty exciting here!We've had Fire Rescue's and police cars and just today there were 2 police cars and a Fire Rescue truck!

Lake Placid Fl.

About 4 days ago we took aride over to Lk.Placid Fl.which is located in south central part of the state.It was nice but we did hit alot of pop-up showers,lasted from 10 to 20 min.We went down by our old house,didn't look like the new owners were keeping it up to well.Spent about an hour there then went and got a room in Okeechobee,we were pretty tired when we cheched in,ordered a pizza for supper then the next day we were back on the road headed back to the apt.

The BIG 'O'!...(Okeechobee)

3 Days ago I went over to the City of Okeechobee,which is on the northern most tip of Lake Okeechobee.First when we got into town we stopped at a Golden Coral,it's not a very good idea to do that on Sun.!!!...(whoops,sorry,we went over there on Sun.)Then we went up the road alitte ways to the Budget Inn,nice rooms although could've been alittle nicer.Didn't go out back by the pool,but did walk around the block and I did see people playing in the pool,tables/chairs/umbrellas(regular pool stuff one would expect to see at somtin like a Budget Inn or Economy Inn)!The lady at the front desk was very nice,just 1 problem,when we asked her how far it was to the casino,she said about 16mi. it was more like 26!!We did this the following day,when we checked out.First went to the casino stayed about 45 min.or so(decided we didn't like it cause it was small),then headed back to Okeechobee and stoped and got lunch at this really nice restaurant,I think it was called'The Lodge at the lake'.It was a pretty nice little getaway!

Sebastian Fl.

I went to sebastian today,it's a nice drive down there!There's along strech of highway,(I guess about 9 mi.) that is loaded with standing dead trees on either side of the road.It's like an osprey villiage!Sometimes you see as many as 10 or 11 ospreys,just sitting on top of there nests,and sometimes you'll see these big birds with 1 or 2 of their young.This could be at any  time of the year (after all,this is south Fl. the birds nest 365 days a year here,not like up north where they only nest like 6 or 7 months out of the year)!

Honest John's Fish Camp

A very nice quit spot,right on the river.Pull up to the dock and tie your boat,while you go up and get your bait,or just go in and get yourself a bag of chips or a soda.They also have a nice deck underneath coconut palms,so you can just sit there and eat your chips or drink your drink and watch the ducks!
